Riddick: Blindsided

Before Writer/Director David Twohy released his sci-fi sequel Riddick to the public, he wanted to whet fans’ appetites with an animated short. Riddick: Blindsided is a “motion-comic” featuring voiceover performances by Vin Diesel and Karl Urban, picking up where 2004’s feature film The Chronicles of Riddick left off.

I worked with a small team of illustrators and motion artists to bring Twohy’s vision to life on an expedited schedule with only weeks to spare. The resulting piece showcases over five minutes of custom artwork overseen by Twohy himself. Released at Comic-Con, the short was featured on more than 100 industry websites with over one million total views, and it helped generate buzz for the release of Riddick, which opened #1 at the box office.
